… But I’m going to put this here anyways.
One of my most hated phrases in the English language is, ‘It’s only social’, referring to how serious one takes ‘social’ over say ‘district’ Basketball.
To me this phrase has never made sense, I’ve played social and district and can find no reason to take either one more serious than the other?
My main points being;
Social:
You don’t need to to try out.
You train.
You don’t get paid to play.
You have two umpires.
You play 40 minute games.
You play to have fun.
District:
You don’t need to to try out.
You train.
You don’t get paid to play.
You have two umpires.
You play 40 minute games.
You play to have fun.
So why would I take one any more seriously than the other? Of course I’m going to take them both seriously. I want to win. If you don’t, why are you trying?
